Le Bulletin de l'association canadienne des bibliothécaires de langues française (ACBLF) (1955-1972) et la bibliothéconomie québécoise

Lajeunesse, Marcel (Université de Montréal)

Résumé: The Bulletin de l’Association canadienne des bibliothécaires de langue française (ACBLF) was created in 1955 by Edmond Desrochers. In doing so, the ACBLF severed the ties it had with Fides, ties it had since its creation in 1943. In the early 1960s, librarianship in Québec experienced something of a renewal when the creation of the École de bibliothéconomie and the adoption of two laws by the National Assembly, one concerning public libraries and the other concerning school libraries. A few years later, Québec established a national library. These years, represented for the Bulletin, a break from the traditional and moralistic vision of the book and the library. Since that time the Bulletin evolved with the times and reflected access to modernity regarding the book and the library in Québec society.
